Our wonderful partners at Chicago Adventure Therapy have offerred an advanced kayak safety/rescue training to help improve safety and leadership capabilities on Chicago's waterways. You WILL be getting in the water. If you plan to help us facilitate kayaking programs this summer (volunteer days or Bubbly Creek community kayaking) we highly reccomnend that you sign up for this training!

Location: Jackson Park Inner Harbor (Parking lot - 1987 E Hayes Dr, Chicago, IL 60649). It also shows up as "boat launch non-motorized" on Google maps. We will start and end in this parking lot.
Bathrooms: Unfortunately, there are no bathrooms here. Sometimes folks will go in the bushes. The nearest bathrooms are on the other side (north side) of Hayes Street in the parking lot that is 1987E E Hayes Dr (Jackson Park basketball court) - in the Jackson Park Driving Range (golf) building. The other option is the 63rd St Beach house.
Time: 2-5 pm
Everyone should wear: sunglasses, hat for the sun, paddling clothes (non-cotton shirt & pants / shorts / swim trunks) and paddling shoes (water shoes / sandals with a heel strap - no flip flops). As always, we have clothes and shoes to borrow for the day if needed.
Everyone should bring: sunscreen, water bottle, snacks, towel, dry clothes to change into. We will provide all of the paddling gear and boats.
